Editor's review
This software tool converts either of the DWG or DXF format files to the web format DWF.
AutoDWG DWG DWF Converter is a batch converter. It converts DWG/DXF to DWF without the need of AutoCAD or compatible software in your system. DWF is the drawing format from Autodesk that is optimised for publishing on the web. DWG/ DXF support is available from R9 through 2011, three types of DWF are supported. These include the ASCII, Binary and compressed binary. The compressed binary type of file is the smallest sized. To get started with the DWG DWF Converter you start by selecting a project (folder), and generate a DWF file for each DWG file in the project. The drawings then can be published to the Internet/Intranet or your drawing management system. The interface is simple. May be the font used for the text on the interface is not all that likeable.
The tool supports SHX, XREF and line width features. The interface is simple enough, so that even beginners are able to get started quickly. You choose if just a single file is to be converted, or you want to include all the sub directories of the folder selected. Next is a selection of background, choices available are black or white. Then you have the batch listing area where the batch of drawings to be converted, are listed. You get a listing of input files and the names of output files. Finally, you select a folder/directory for all the output files and then start the conversion. The command line interface is for more experienced users and has all the parameters that can make your job easy. A useful tool to have in your bag of tricks when you publish a lot of drawings on the Internet or the company intranet!
